| 英文.... | Sculpture construction technique referred to as hollow dry lacquer where layers of lacquer soaked cloth are applied over a clay mold. Once the lacquer dries, the mold is removed and a wooden armature is sometimes inserted to prevent warping. This technique was popular during the Hakuhou (645-710) and Nara (710-749) periods and was largely replaced by the wood-core dry lacquer technique, "mokushin kanshitsu," by the end of the Nara period. |
