泛指運用於人體上的多種藝術性裝飾與裝飾品，目的在於增強美感或展現個人獨特性，包括的類型有：毀身裝飾、刺青、身體穿環與彩繪、髮型以及首飾的穿戴。身體藝術與「身體藝術」不同，人體藝術是指自1960年代以來雇用人體模特兒作為表達媒介的作品，其可能採用行為藝術的型式，或由藝術家利用自己的身體作為表現重點或題材。

英文....	Collective term for the range of artistic decoration and embellishment applied to the human body for purposes of beautification or self expression. It includes such forms as scarification, tattooing, body piercing and painting, hair styling, and the wearing of jewelry. Distinct from "body art" which refers to works produced since the 1960s that employ human bodies as the medium of expression; may be in the form of performance art, or the artist using his own body as a focus or theme.
荷蘭語....	Verzamelnaam voor allerlei vormen van kunstzinnige decoraties en versieringen die op het menselijk lichaam worden aangebracht als een vorm van verfraaiing of zelfexpressie. Het betreft bijvoorbeeld insnijdingen, tatoeages, bodypiercing en lichaamsbeschilderingen, haarkunst en het dragen van sieraden. Te onderscheiden van 'body art', een term die verwijst naar werken die sinds de jaren 60 van de 20ste eeuw worden geproduceerd en waarbij het menselijk lichaam als expressiemedium dient; body art kan worden uitgevoerd als performance, of in een vorm waarbij de kunstenaar zijn eigen lichaam als aandachtspunt of thema gebruikt.
西班牙語....	Término colectivo para el rango de decoración artística y ornamentos aplicados al cuerpo humano con propósitos de embellecimiento o expresión. Incluye formas tales como escarificación, tatuajes, piercing y pinturas, peinados y el uso de joyas. Distinto de "body art" que se refiere a obras producidas desde 1960 que emplean cuerpos humanos como el medio de expresión; puede ser en la forma de arte de performance, o el artista emplea su propio cuerpo como foco o tema.
