古代羅馬宗教認為占卜是神顯現於自然現象中的預示，必須經過破解。占卜被視為是對預定行為的指南。通常依據空中的雷、閃電、及不同種類的鳥來進行占卜，但也有其他方式。公共占卜由文職官員或占兆官在聖殿的神聖之處進行。

英文....	In ancient Roman religion, the signs of the gods that were inscribed in nature and meant to be deciphered. Auspicia were seen as affirmative or negative answers to proposed courses of action. Auspicia often came from the sky as thunder, lightning, and different kinds of birds although there were other kinds as well. Public auspicia were taken by magistrates or augurs in the sacred space of the templum.
荷蘭語....	In de godsdienst der oude Romeinen de voortekenen van de goden die waren geschreven in de natuur en bedoeld om te worden ontcijferd. Auspicia werden gezien als bevestigende of ontkennende antwoorden op een voorgestelde handelwijze. Auspicia kwamen vaak uit de lucht in de vorm van donder, bliksem en verschillende soorten vogels, maar er waren ook andere vormen. Openbare auspicia werden door magistraten of augurs geïnterpreteerd in de heilige ruimte van de templum.
西班牙語....	En la antigua religión romana, las señales de los dioses que se inscribieron en la naturaleza y cuyo significado debe ser descifrado. El Auspicia fue vista como respuestas afirmativas o negativas a los cursos propuestos de acción. Auspicia venía a menudo del cielo como trueno, relámpago y tipos diferentes de pájaros aunque había otros tipos también. Los auspicia públicos fueron tomados por magistrados o agoreros en el espacio sagrado del templo.
