荷蘭語....Naam die verwijst naar de wereldlijke en religieuze leiders van moslimgemeenschappen die worden beschouwd als opvolger van Mohammed; de naam is afgeleid van het Arabische woord 'khalifa', dat 'opvolger' betekent. De term wordt met name gebruikt binnen een historisch kader om te verwijzen naar de afschaffing van het kalifaat in Turkije, op 23 maart 1924.
西班牙語....Nombre con el que se designa a líderes seculares y religiosos de las comunidades musulmanas que se consideran como sucesores de Muhammad; deriva del significado árabe "sucesor” del "califa”. El término se utiliza sobre todo en referencia histórica después de la abolición del califato turco el 23 de marzo de 1924.
