鷺亞科(亞科) Ardeinae(subfamily)
範圍註 ：
亞科名，包含60個長腿涉水禽物種，廣泛分佈於世界各地，但以熱帶地區最為常見。他們通常在站立時，頸部會彎曲成獨特的S形，在輕聲涉過池塘、濕地、沼澤的淺水處時覓食，在水邊的灌木或喬木枝條所構成之粗糙平台處築巢；所築之巢通常形成一個群體，稱為鷺巢群。
