一種當代藝術類型，使用自然界的力量、生物有機組織與生物進程、個人表現、其他各種媒介等，來彰顯地球生態系統的運作，闡明並解釋環境問題，或實行這些問題的解決方案。至於圍繞觀者或需要觀者參與其中的大型戶外作品，通常會結合作品所在地點的樣貌，則稱之為「環境藝術」。

英文....A contemporary art genre utilizing natural physical forces, biological organisms and processes, personal performance, or a variety of other media to demonstrate the workings of the earth's ecological systems, illustrate and explain environmental problems, or implement solutions to these problems. For large scale, outdoor works that surround or involve the participation of the viewer and usually incorporate aspects of their sites, use "environmental art."
荷蘭語....Te gebruiken voor het kunstgenre uit de 20e eeuw dat gebruik maakt van natuurlijke fysieke krachten, biologische organismen en processen, persoonlijke performance en andere media om de werking van ecosystemen te demonstreren, om milieu-problemen toe lichten en uit te leggen of om oplossing van deze problemen uit te voeren. Gebruik 'omgevingskunst' voor grootschalige werken in de openlucht die de toeschouwer omringen of laten meedoen, en die meestal aspecten van hun locatie daarbij betrekken.
西班牙語....Úsese para el género artístico del siglo XX que utiliza fuerzas físicas naturales, organismos y procesos biológicos, ejecución personal o una variedad de otros medios para demostrar el trabajo de los sistemas ecológicos de la tierra, ilustrar y explicar problemas ambientales o implementar soluciones a estos problemas. Para obras en exterior de gran formato que rodean o involucran la participación del observador y usualmente incorporan aspectos de sus sitios, use "arte ambiental".
