寢殿造 Shinden
範圍註 ：
指主要為貴族宮殿的日本宅邸建築風格，在平安時代（西元794年至1185年）最為興盛。寢殿造這個名稱源自位於中央朝南的正殿亦或大廰。東、西、北三方為山牆亭或為連接覆頂走廊的附屬建築，周圍環繞著一座精巧的景觀花園。

| 英文.... | Refers to the style of Japanese residential architecture used mainly for palatial mansions of the aristocracy, reaching it's peak in the Hein Perion (794-1185). The name is derived fron the shiden, or main hall, that is constructed in the center of a lot facing south. To the east, west and north are gabled pavllions or annexes connected by covered, paved passageways and surrounding an elaboarte landscape garden. |

Deze stijl bereikte haar piek tijdens de Hein-periode (794-1185). De naam is ontleend aan de shiden, of centrale hal die is opgericht in het midden van het bouwwerk, gericht op het zuiden.
