多位中世紀基督教思想家創立的哲學系統及思想流派，對抗當時僵化的宗教教義，嘗試重新解決一般哲學問題（例如信仰與理性、意志與智性、上帝存在之證明）。起初受到神秘、講究直觀的教父哲學影響，尤以奧古斯丁主義為最，後來又受到亞里斯多德哲學啟發。

The philosophical systems and speculative tendencies of various Medieval Christian thinkers, who, working against a background of fixed religious dogma, sought to solve anew general philosophical problems (as of faith and reason, will and intellect, and the provability of the existence of God), initially under the influence of the mystical and intuitional tradition of patristic philosophy, and especially Augustinianism, and later under that of Aristotle.

De filosofische systemen en speculatieve tendensen van diverse middeleeuwse christelijke denkers die tegen de achtergrond van vaste religieuze dogma's probeerden nieuwe oplossingen te vinden voor algemene filosofische problemen (zoals over geloof en rede, wil en intellect en de bewijsbaarheid van het bestaan van God), aanvankelijk onder invloed van de mythische en intuïtieve traditie van de patristische filosofie (met name die van Augustinus), en later onder invloed van Aristoteles.
西班牙語....	Los sistemas filosóficos y las tendencias especulativas de varios pensadores cristianos medievales que, trabajando contra un ambiente de dogma religioso fijo, buscaban resolver nuevamente problemas filosóficos generales (a partir de fe y razón, voluntad e intelecto y la probabilidad de la existencia de Dios), inicialmente bajo la influencia de la tradición mística e intuitiva de la filosofía patrística y sobre todo el Augustinianismo y después bajo la de Aristóteles.
