範圍註 ：
研究小型或大型人類群體、其他生物或機械之間傳送及接收訊息的科學與技術，包括對口語、圖像、姿態與數位語言的符號及象徵，訊息傳遞的互動與行為，以及大型體制與系統進行的研究。對於向他人傳達認知、知識或資訊的功能，使用「溝通（功能）」一詞。
