The process of joining two pieces of metal by inserting solder between them and applying heat, sometimes but not necessarily softening or melting the surfaces to be joined; usually carried out within a temperature range of 183 to 310 degrees Celsius, with an upper limit of 750 degrees Celsius. For the similar process carried out at temperatures ranging between 750 and 900 degrees Celsius, use "brazing." For the process of joining two pieces of metal that necessarily involves softening or melting the surfaces to be joined but not necessarily the insertion of filler metal, use "welding."
荷蘭語....	Wordt gebruikt voor het procédé waarbij twee stukken metaal aan elkaar worden bevestigd door er soldeer tussen te voegen en hitte te gebruiken, en waarbij de te verbinden oppervlakken soms, maar niet noodzakelijkerwijs, worden onthard of verhit. Deze toepassing vindt meestal plaats bij een temperatuur tussen 183 en 310 graden Celsius, met een maximum van 750 graden Celsius. Gebruik 'hardsolderen' voor hetzelfde procédé waarbij de temperatuur tussen de 750 en 900 graden Celsius ligt. Gebruik 'lassen' voor het procédé waarbij twee stukken metaal worden verbonden en waarbij het nodig is de oppervlakken te ontharden of te smelten en waarbij lasmetaal wel of niet gebruikt kan worden.
西班牙語....	El proceso de ensamblar dos pedazos de metal insertando la soldadura entre ellos y aplicando calor, no necesariamente ablandando las superficies que se ensamblarán; realizado generalmente dentro de una gama de temperaturas de 183 a 310 grados de centígrado, con un límite superior de 750 grados de centígrado. Para el proceso similar realizado en temperaturas que se extienden entre 750 y 900 grados de centígrado, utilizar "soldar.” Para el proceso de ensamblar dos pedazos del metal que implica necesariamente el ablandar las superficies que se ensamblarán pero no es necesariamente la inserción de metal de relleno, utilizar "soldadura.”
