De stijl kenmerkt zich door het gebruik van een fijne engobe en een bakproces in twee fasen, om door middel van sintering een zwarte ondergrond te verkrijgen, met in rood uitgespaarde figuren. 西班牙語....	Se refiere a un antiguo estilo griego de pintura en vaso que se desarrolló del estilo de la figura Negra. Surgió en Atenas alrededor del 530 a.C. y se extendió a otras áreas de Grecia, Italia del sur, Etruria y otras partes en el área mediterránea, hasta que desapareció en el III siglo a.C. Se caracteriza por el uso de refinado engobe y un proceso de cocción de dos etapas para crear un fondo negro a través de la sedimentación, con figuras reservadas en rojo. Los detalles de las figuras son más fluidos que en el estilo de la figura negra y son típicamente dibujados con un pincel, usando ambos, una línea en relieve negra y una línea más diluida que varía en color desde el oro oscuro al negro.
