指與哥德人相關的時代和藝術風格。哥德人是日耳曼人的一支，他們可能源自斯堪地那維亞，在擊敗汪達爾人和其他日耳曼分支後，遷徙至波羅的海南部海岸，接著在西元二世紀遷徙至黑海地區。這個詞特別與西元五世紀的大遷徙潮相關，當時遷徙的包括哥德人的兩支部落：義大利的東哥德人和西班牙的西哥德人。

| 英文.... | Refers to the period and artistic styles associated with the Goths, a Germanic people who probably originated in Scandinavia and migrated to the southern shore of the Baltic Sea after defeating Vandals and other Germanic people in the area, and then migrated to the Black Sea in the second century CE. The term is particularly associated with the great wave of migration in the fifth century CE by the two branches of Goths, the Ostrogoths in Italy and the Visigoths in Spain. |
