東魏 Eastern Wei
範圍註 ：
西元534年至550年間的中國朝代與文化。東魏為前北魏刺史高歡（西元496年至547年）與其子擁立孝靜帝所建立，統治洛陽以東的區域，建都於河北省南方的鄴。此時期的藝術創作仍以佛教為主要啟發。位於泰山的神通寺為中國現存最古老的石造塔寺，可能建於東魏。本時期的佛雕較北魏時期渾厚。西元550年，高歡之子高洋廢東魏而建立北齊。

| 英文.... | Refers to the Chinese dynastic period and culture dating to 534 to 550 CE that was established by a former Northern Wei garrison commander, Gao Huan (496-547), and his sons. They controlled an area east of Luoyang, with their capital at Ye in southern Hebei province. Buddhism continued to be the main inspiration for the arts. The oldest stone pagoda chapel extant in China, at Shentong si at Mt. Tai, is probably Eastern Wei. Sculpture of this period has a greater rotundity than Northern Wei sculpture. The dynasty ended in 550 when Gao Huan's son Gao Yang became emperor and established the Northern Qi dynasty. |

Chr. die werd gesticht door een voormalige garnizoenscommandant van Noordelijke Wei, Gao Huan (496-547), en zijn zonen. Ze beheersten een gebied ten oosten van Luoyang. De hoofdstad was gevestigd in Ye in de zuidelijke provincie Hebei. Het boeddhisme bleef de belangrijkste inspiratie voor de kunsten. De oudste overgebleven stenen pagodekapel in China, bij Shentong si op de berg Tai, is waarschijnlijk Oostelijke Wei. Beeldhouwkunst uit deze periode wordt gekenmerkt door een grotere rondheid dan beeldhouwkunst van de Noordelijke Wei.
