英文....	A deep red natural colorant made from secretions of the larvae of the lac insect, indigenous to southeast Asia. Lac dye is a byproduct produced during the shellac purification process; its primary colorant is laccaic acid. It was an important dyestuff used since ancient times, giving a lightfast tint to silk and wool, similar in color to dyes obtained from cochineal and kermes. Now synthetic colorants have replaced the use of lac dye.
荷蘭語....	Een rode natuurlijke kleurstof die wordt verkregen uit de larven van de schildluis Laccifera lacca Kerr, voorheen de Coccus laccae genoemd.
西班牙語....	Colorante natural rojo elaborado a partir de secreciones de las larvas del insecto lac, Laccifer lacca Kerr, antes llamado Coccus laccae.
