一種可溶於水、無味、加工而成的膠狀膠原，取自骨頭、蹄或皮膚。可做為分散劑、上漿媒材、膠黏劑或攝影軟片的塗層，也可當作調製食品及藥物的穩定劑。加工後分子量高，與經膠原強化加工，所形成的動物膠相反。
