軟玉 nephrite
範圍註 ：
一種異常堅韌、質地緊密的陽起石與透閃石混合物，具細密紋理，泛綠或藍色。是一種鈣鎂矽酸鹽類，其中所含微量鉻與鎳為其呈色來源。軟玉與硬玉這兩種礦物通常被統稱為「玉」。軟玉在琢磨過後，呈現油狀具光澤的外觀，有時摻雜多種色彩，如白色、黃色、棕色、灰色和黑色。軟玉從新石器時代就被用來製作小型器皿、裝飾性雕刻以及首飾。在加熱至攝氏1025度時，軟玉的礦物形式會轉變成透輝石。

| 英文.... | An exceptionally tough, compact, fine-grained greenish or bluish mixture of actinolite and tremolite; it is a calcium magnesium silicate with traces of chromium and nickel, which produces its color. With jadeite, it is one of two minerals commonly called "jade." Nephrite has an oily, lustrous appearance when polished and is sometimes variegated in color that can incorporate white, yellow, brown, gray, and black. Nephrite has been used since Neolithic times for small utensils, decorative carvings and jewelry. When heated to about 1025 C, nephrite changes mineral forms to diopside. |
