神聖人物頭部四周圍繞的榮光，由光圈、光盤、成列光束或光線所構成。在希臘化時期及羅馬的藝術作品中，太陽神赫利俄斯與羅馬皇帝都有光輪，並且經常與光冕一同出現。基督教藝術之後受到這種圖像的影響。
