古叉葉樹(滅絕物種) Hymenaea protera(extinct species)
範圍註 ：
該物種被認為是現存攣葉豆屬物種的祖先，由此絕種喬木所沉澱形成的柯巴脂是一種相當珍貴的清漆原料。其分布範圍極廣，由南墨西哥與南美洲北部到非洲大陸。根據形態學與DNA研究，古叉葉樹在親緣關係上較接近東非僅存的攣葉豆屬物種，而非數量眾多的美洲物種。

| 英文.... | Thought to be the ancestor of living Hymenaea species. Copal deposited from these extinct trees is highly valued for varnish. It had an extensive range, from southern Mexico and northern South America to the African continent. Studies of morphology and DNA indicate that H. protera was more closely related to the only species of Hymenaea remaining in East Africa than it is to the numerous American species. |
