電報 telegraphs
範圍註 ：
任何一種藉由編碼訊號遠距傳輸資訊的裝置或系統。過去幾世紀以來，人類使用過許多種電報系統，不過「電報」一詞最常指電動電報。電動電報發展於十九世紀中期，過去超過一世紀的時間，電動電報是透過電線或無線電波傳遞印刷資料的主要方法。電報裝置由傳輸儀器和遠距接收儀器所組成，兩者藉由導線或其他通訊頻道而連接。

| 英文.... | Any of numerous types of devices or systems that allow the transmission of information by coded signal over a distance. Many telegraphic systems have been used over the centuries, but the term most often refers to the electric telegraph, which was developed in the mid-19th century and was the principal means of transmitting printed information by wire or radio wave for over a century. It consisted of a transmitting or sending instrument and a distant receiving instrument connected by a conducting wire or other communications channel. |
