範圍註：

屬裸子植物，與松柏科植物具親屬關係，但外型接近棕櫚樹，並且與蕨類植物相似。具冠狀大型複葉與短而結實的樹幹；現今可見於熱帶與亞熱帶地區，在侏儸紀時期生長茂盛，植物的種類豐富且數量繁多。
