通用於巴西的法文詞彙，用於指稱從不同品種的熱帶橡膠樹屬（Hevea）及榕屬（Ficus）中樹木上所取得的乳白色純樹脂汁，質地黏稠且富伸縮彈性。這種汁液接觸到空氣後會凝固，變得極具彈性且可防水。不同於「馬來樹膠」，生橡膠需要加熱較久才能定型。在西元十九世紀早期，「生橡膠」一詞也用於指稱以橡膠作為基材的水泥商品，此種水泥含有少量溶於溶劑後再與瑪蒂脂混合的彈性體。現今以「乳膠」（latex）一詞指稱此種材料。

英文....	A French term used in Brazil for the pure, milky, sticky, elastic, resinous juice obtained from various species of the tropical genera Hevea and Ficus. It coagulates on exposure to the air, becomes highly elastic, and is waterproof. Distinguished from "gutta-percha" in that caoutchouc must be heated longer to set. In the early 19th century, the name "caoutchouc" was also used for a commercial rubber-based cement in which a small amount of the elastomer was dissolved in a solvent and mixed with mastic. Today, this material is called "latex."
荷蘭語....	Chemisch zuiver, melkachtig, kleverig sap van diverse tropische bomen en andere planten, voornamelijk van cachuchu, als volledig ruw materiaal of gedroogd boven vuur. Wordt gebruikt voor de productie van 'rubber'.
西班牙語....	Savia pegajosa, lechosa, químicamente pura de varios árboles y plantas tropicales, en especial del cachuchu, ya sea completamente en bruto o secada sobre un fuego, utilizada para producir "caucho" o goma.
