蟬科(科) Cicadidae(family)
範圍註 ：
此科涵蓋約2500種昆蟲，有著兩對膜狀羽翼、一對突起的複眼以及三隻單眼（ocelli），雄性的腹部底端附近，有著可振動發出特殊聲音的薄膜（蟬等昆蟲的鼓膜，也就是timbals）。大多數種類的蟬生命週期為2至5年，而部分種類的蟬則比較長壽，其生命週期甚至可達13至17年之久。
