英文....	Large, ancient Roman merchant vessels of the western Mediterranean having a curved sternpost, but a projecting, ramlike cutwater at the bow; such vessels tended to be longer and narrower than "corbitae," the other major Roman merchant type.

Te gebruiken voor grote Oud-Romeinse handelsschepen uit het westelijke gedeelte van het Middellandse-Zeegebied, die een ronde achtersteven maar aan de boeg een naar voren stekend, ramachtige scheg hebben; zulke schepen waren vaak langer en smaller dan de 'corbitae', het andere belangrijke Romeinse type handelsschip.
西班牙語....	Úsese para gran buque mercante de la Antigua Roma del Mediterráneo occidental, que tenía un codaste curvado, pero un tajamar proyectante y en forma de espolón en la proa. Tales buques fueron concebidos para ser más largos y estrechos que "corbita”, el otro gran tipo de buque mercante de la Antigua Roma.
