形如拉長的圓的平面幾何圖形，由完全平滑且無凹陷部分的弧線構成，長軸兩側的弧線弧度較小，而短軸兩側的弧線弧度則較大。卵形與橢圓形的不同之處在於，卵形未必對稱於長軸和短軸。
