最後加工(過程) finishing(process)
範圍註 ：
一般而言，指稱完成某個物件、處理方式，或者是工作的種種過程，包含了運用化學、電解，以及機械/物理的方式進行最後的修整。在書籍裝訂的脈絡之中，此詞彙指在書本裝訂工序完成後，乃至替書籍黏貼其封面的一連串流程。在精裝裝訂之中，封面是在進行上字或者是裝飾之前就黏製上去的，因此黏貼封面屬於裝訂工序的一部份，並非最後加工。在皮革製造的脈絡之中，此詞指稱在鞣製後對皮革所進行的全部處理過程。在紙張製造的脈絡之中，則是指紙張在離開造紙機器之後對紙張所進行的全部處理過程。

| 英文.... | Refers generally to processes that complete an object, treatment, or work, including the chemical, electrolytic, and mechanical application of finishes. In the context of bookbinding, refers to that sequence of processes carried out on a book and its binding after forwarding, up to the point of attaching its cover. In case binding, where the cover is attached prior to the applicaiton of lettering or decoration, the attachment of the cover is part of the forwarding, not the finishing. In the context of leather manufacture, all the processes carried out on the leather after tanning. In the context of papermaking, all the processes carried out on the paper after it leaves the papermaking machine. |

En el contexto de encuadernación, úsese para aquella secuencia de procesos realizados en un libro y su encuadernación adelantándose al punto de adjuntar las tapas. En encuadernación de tapa suelta, en donde las tapas se adjuntan antes de la aplicación de la rotulación o decoración, el adjunto de las tapas es parte de lo siguiente, no del acabado. |
