Works of art that incorporate several different styles or are made up of parts drawn from a variety of sources. May also refer to other artistic works, such as works of music or literature, that piece together fragments from various sources or that closely imitate the style of another work. A pastiche typically selfconsciously borrows its style, technique, or motifs from other works of art, yet is not a direct copy of any work; it is often deliberately exaggerated and satirical. The term may also be applied in a derogatory sense, implying that the creator was unoriginal.
