英文....	A school of meditative Buddhism introduced to Japan in the 12th century by monks returning from China. Originating in India, it spread to China where elements of Taoism were added. Zen emphasizes simple meditation that avoids ritual as well the personal experience of enlightenment attained through a life lived close to nature. There are two main branches of Zen in Japan: Rinzai and Soto.
荷蘭語....	Een school van meditatief boeddhisme die in de 12de eeuw in Japan werd geïntroduceerd door monniken die terugkeerden uit China. Zen had zijn oorsprong in India en kwam terecht in China, waar elementen van het taoïsme werden toegevoegd. Zen legt de nadruk op eenvoudige meditatie zonder rituelen en de persoonlijke beleving van verlichting door een leven dicht bij de natuur. Er zijn twee belangrijke takken van zen in Japan: Rinzai en Soto.
西班牙語....	Una escuela de budismo contemplativo introducida en Japón en el siglo XII por monjes que retornaban de la India. Originada en India, se difundió a China en donde se le agregaron elementos del Taoísmo. El Zen enfatiza la meditación simple que evita el ritual así como la experiencia personal de iluminación obtenida a través de la vida cerca de la naturaleza. Hay dos ramas principales del Zen en Japón: Rinzai y Soto.
