室町時代 Muromachi
範圍註 ：
指西元1338年至1573年，足利幕府崛起的時代與藝術風格。儘管當時因應仁之亂（西元1467年至1477年）而造成政治動盪，不過當時仍發展出茶道與插花，也出現了深受中國影響的單色繪畫與精緻的亮漆雕刻。建築風格特色則為簡單樸素的結構，以及依據名畫設計的大型景觀花園。

Although political unrest resulted from the Onin War (1467-1477), the period saw the development of the tea ceremony, flower arranging, the rise of Chinese influenced monochrome painting, and intricate laquer carvings. In architecture, the style is characterized by simple and austere structures, and the use of large landscape gardens designed after famous paintings. |
