範圍註：

膠棉或凝膠的薄塗層，延展於攝影用紙或感光板之上，或是單獨使用塗層，不另置於薄板上。現今的攝影底片通常是具彈性的透明材料，且均已附有塑膠底部或板面，其中一面塗上單或多層的感光乳劑，並以捲製軸狀及個別薄片販售；此外，單捲攝影底片可沖出少量曝光軟片，供靜態攝影使用，或產生大量曝光軟片，供拍攝電影使用。
