荷蘭語....Bouwconstructies voor tuinen bestaande uit latten en ondersteund door op gelijke afstanden van elkaar geplaatste palen of zuilen; vaak bekleed met klimplanten zoals druiven of rozen, om schaduw te geven aan een pad of doorgang. Te onderscheiden van 'priëlen' die minder uitgebreid zijn in omvang en opbouw en die geen pad begeleiden.
西班牙語....Estructura de jardín con tejados abiertos de armazón de madera, frecuentemente en celosía, sostenida por postes o columnas regularmente espaciadas. Con frecuencia, cubierta por plantas trepadoras, tales como parras o rosas, dando sombra a los caminos o pasajes. Se diferencia de "cenador”, que es menos vasto en extensión y estructura.
