Wordt gebruikt voor plaatsen van bewaring die worden bestuurd door de plaatselijke regering, voor zowel de tijdelijke hechtenis van veroordeelde of niet-veroordeelde personen en voor mensen die een straf uitzitten van minder dan een jaar; wordt gebruikt voor langere en beter beveiligde opsluiting dan arrestantenhokken, maar zijn minder beperkend en voor kortere straffen dan 'gevangenissen'.
西班牙語....	Lugar de confinamiento gestionado por el gobierno local para detenciones temporales de individuos sentenciados y no sentenciados y para personas que tienen que cumplir sentencias de menos de un año. Son para periodos mayores de confinamiento y más seguras que los calabozos, pero menos clausuradas y para confinamientos más cortos que las prisiones.
