Styles of painting, sculpture, graphic arts, and architecture dating from the recent past and present. It differs from modern art in that the term 'Contemporary art' does not carry the implication of a non-traditional style, but instead refers only to the time period in which the work was created. 'Modern' and 'Contemporary' are inherently fluid terms. The term 'Contemporary' is sometimes more narrowly used to refer to art from ca. 1960 or 1970 up to the present. To refer to the current time period without reference to style of art, use "contemporary (generic time frame)".

Dutch....	Verwijst naar schilderijen, beeldhouwwerken, grafische kunst en architectuur die in het recente verleden of het heden zijn vervaardigd. Het verschil met moderne kunst is dat de term 'hedendaagse kunst' niet de betekenis van een niet-traditionele stijl in zich draagt, maar uitsluitend verwijst naar de periode waarin een werk is gemaakt. De begrippen 'modern' en 'hedendaags' zijn dan ook impliciet aan verandering onderhevig. Het woord 'hedendaags' wordt soms in specifiekere zin gebruikt om de kunst tussen circa 1960 of 1970 en nu aan te duiden.
Spanish....	Se refiere a la pintura, escultura, artes gráficas y arquitectura desarrolladas desde el siglo XIX hasta el presente y se caracteriza por rechazar las formas de arte tradicional y convencional. Es típico reflejo de cambio social, económico e intelectual. El arte moderno incluye numerosas teorías y moviemientos. Se diferencia del arte contemporáneo, que no implica un estilo no tradicional, sino que por el contrario se refiere solamente al período en el cual el trabajo fue creado. Moderno y contemporáneo son intrínsecamente términos fluídos. El término moderno esta más estrechamente referido al arte realizado hasta los años 60 o los años 70.
Chinese (traditional)....	指近代到現在的繪畫、雕塑、平面藝術和建築，「當代藝術」一詞有別於現代藝術（modern art）的地方在於其沒有非傳統風格的意涵，只指作品被創造的當下時代。「現代」和「當代」是本質上難以界定的詞彙，有時「當代」一詞會更狹義地表示從約1960年或1970年至現在的藝術。若要指涉當下的時期，且意涵上並不包含對於藝術風格的指涉，請參考「當代（一般時間範圍） 」。
